Ighodalo Identifies Core Areas to Transform Agricultural Sector in Africa

Chairman, Board of Directors of Sterling Bank Plc, Mr. Asue Ighodalo, has identified five core areas that should be articulated in the quest to transform the agricultural sector in Nigeria and on the African continent. He identified the areas at the virtual Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA) organised by the bank under a theme, Fast Forward Agriculture: Exploiting the Next Revolution. African free trade To Boost manufacturing in Nigeria – NEPC

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) says that the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) will serve as a catalyst for industrialization and development of the manufacturing sector in Nigeria. NEPC Director Export Trade, Mr. Sidi-Aliyu Abdulahhi at the AfCFTA Sensitization Seminar organized by the National Action Committee of the implementation of the agreement disclosed this. Mr. Abdulahhi said the AfCFTA is the largest free trade area since the WTO (in terms of countries participating) and will cover a market of 1.3 billion customers which would be beneficial for Nigerian producers. South Africa demands more African representation at the UN Security Council

Africa must be better represented in the UN Security Council, whose "current composition does not reflect the world in which we live," South African President Cyril Ramaphosa argued Tuesday at the UN General Assembly. "South Africa currently sits, for the second year, as a non-permanent member," Ramaphosa, who also currently holds the rotating presidency of the African Union (AU), recalled, via an audiovisual message filmed in his country. According to Ghana's first president, Kwame Nkrumah "It is clear that we must find an African solution to our problems, and that this can only be found in African unity."
