The Global Citizens Festival held in Accra, Ghana on Saturday, September 24, 2022. The festival holds annually, and it aims to bring people, artistes, and leaders from around the world together to take action on the plan that focuses on empowering children and women, ending poverty, and creating change. The festival took place in the 20,000-capacity Black Star Square in Accra and it kickstarted with a speech from the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.

The audience then enjoyed electrifying performances from both international and local artistes. The headliner of the night was American singer Usher Raymond who gave a spectacular performance while channelling his inner Fela Anikulapo-Kuti at some point during his performance. The star brought other artistes like Oxlade, Tems, Tiwa Savage, and Pheelz to give show stopping performances. The Festival also took place on the same day at Central Park’s Great Lawn in New York City, with the Jonas Brothers, Mariah Carey, Charlie Puth, and a host of others thrilling the fans in the United States.
