Tems and Wizkid bag awards at the 2023 iHeart Radio Awards

Nigerian Afrobeats king Wizkid, and internationally recognized singer Tems have added a new award to their list of awards, giving their fans bragging rights. The singers won the award for Best Afrobeats Artist at the 2023 iHeart Radio Awards on March 27, 2023. The awards show was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and Lenny Kravitz hosted it. 

The duo defeated Afrobeats artists like Burna Boy, Ckay, and Fireboy to bag the award. Award-winning singer Tems also won the award for Best Hip Hop Song for the Best Collaboration for her contributions to Future’s ‘Wait For U’. The singer was also nominated for the Best R&B category but she lost the category to American singer Sza. The ‘Essence’ crooners have put Afrobeats on the map once again, and it’s a proud moment for their fans.
