Ethiopian-born Dutch-long distance runner participated in the female course at the 2023 London Marathon, and she finished the race with an impressive victory. The thirty-year-old Olympic champion appeared to have suffered a hip injury during the race, but she persevered at the race to win on her debut at this distance.

Sifan Hassan defied all odds and finished the race in two hours 18 minutes 33 seconds. The 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic Champion showed the world why she is the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single game, at the 2023 London Marathon. The athlete revealed after the race that she had a problem with her hip but forgot to tape it before the race, but was grateful that she won the marathon for the first time.
