Nollywood powerhouse Omoni Oboli is back with her latest directorial venture, “The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3.”
Set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on October 18th. This film marks Omoni’s 10th project as a director and her return to the big screen after 5 years.
“The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3” is a tale of love, friendship, loss, betrayal, and resilience, a widow’s world is turned upside down when her only child gets kidnapped. With time running out, she must confront the darkest depths of human despair.
“The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3” is a third part of trilogy with the first movie, “Wives on Strike”, released in 2016 and followed by the sequel, “Wives on Strike: The Revolution”, in 2018.
The movie is predominantly shot in English with a blend of indigenous Nigerian languages and Pidgin.
The movie premiere was held at EbonyLife Place in Victoria Island, Lagos, and was attended by renowned Nollywood actors and social media influencers.
Oboli, who also directed the movie said that it teaches a valuable lesson for women and people in the society.
Uche Jombo, who also starred in the movie, noted that the movie shows the strength of unity and speaking with one voice.
Produced by Tomi Adeoye and Omoni Oboli, the movie features a star-studded cast including, Omoni Oboli, Hilda Dokubo, Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha, Ufuoma Mc Dermott, Bukunmi “Kiekie” Adeaga-Ilori, Okey Bakassi, May Yul Edochie, Julius Agwu, Elvin Ibru, Segun Arinze, Sani Musa Danja, Kalu Igwe, Femi Branch, Emeka Okoye, Tomi Wategbe, and Folaremi Agunbiade.
