Nigeria’s Falconets crash out of world cup

The under-20 female football team has failed to make it to the semifinals of the FIFA under-20 women’s world cup. They played against the Netherlands on Sunday, August 21, 2022, with high hopes to continue their winning streak. The high-flying falconets had won all their group stage matches at the beginning of the tournament.

The quarterfinal match between Nigeria and Netherlands ended 2-0. The Netherlands won by two goals to qualify for the semifinals, which meant the end of the road for the falconets. It was an emotional night for the players and fans as the falconets had to take a bow out of the tournament.
