As part of the IOL Youth day mini film festival, Director, “Hip Hop Revolution” Weaam Williams is set to screen the documentary for free.
The screenwriter, director, poet and the owner of Tribal Alchemy Productions, found her voice as an activist using filmmaking.
The documentary which is sponsored by National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa, is aiming at the influence of Black Consciousness and hip hop on the lives and thinking of young people living under apartheid, with particular reference to the Cape Flats state of emergency in the 1980s and early 90s.
Williams is set to beam her event which comes up on Tuesday as every arrangement has been put in place to make the youth day festival a huge success.
