FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Ghana’s Journey comes to an end

The Black Princesses of Ghana were one of the African teams that qualified for the Under-20 World Cup. Their first match for the group stage was against the USA. The Princesses lost by three goals to nil which earned them 0 points. The Black Princesses ended the game with ten players after a red card to their defender Jacqueline Owusu.

Their second match was against Japan, and they suffered another defeat. The match ended 2-0, and the Ghanaians could only hope for a better game in their next match. With no points in the group stage, the Black Princesses hoped for a win against the Netherlands in their final group stage match.

The final leg of the group stage match was held on Thursday, August 18, 2022. The Black Princesses took a bow out of the World Cup after the game ended 4 goals to 1. This is the sixth time Ghana has failed to proceed to the second round of the game.
