Commonwealth Games: Nigeria shines in 4x100m relay race

The Nigerian team has represented the country and continent well at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The athletes have shown great prowess in their respective fields and carried the flag high, with our anthem echoing in the stadium while receiving their medals. They will surely be remembered through history.

On Sunday, August 7, 2022, Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, Rose Chukwuma, and Grace Nwokocha emerged as winners of the 4x100m Women’s relay race at the Alexander Stadium. The quartet set a new African Record of 42.10s to win one more gold for Nigeria.

Golden girl Tobi Amusan started the race for Nigeria and handed over the baton to Favour Ofili. Ofili brilliantly handed over to Rose Chukwuma who smoothly handed the baton to the anchor leg runner Grace Nwokocha who won the race in an astonishing manner. The impeccable performance by the Nigerian team deserves to be applauded.
