It’s a big win for the Afrobeats industry as news of some Afrobeats artistes headlining one of the biggest sports events hit the internet. Grammy award winning singer Burna Boy, Grammy award-winning singer and Oscar nominated musician Tems, and internationally recognized singer Rema have been recruited to headline the NBA All-Star game 2023 half-time show, where they will be joined by other internationally acclaimed entertainers like Post Malone, 21 Savage, Cordae, and Vin Diesel.

The halftime show is set to be Afrobeats themed, and it has created a buzz online, as it will be the first time an African genre will dominate the event, as previous performances by African artists have been limited to single slots, like Rema in 2021. The 2023 NBA All-Star game is scheduled for Sunday, February 19, 2023, in Utah. This will be the 30th anniversary of the first time the All-Star game came to Utah, and it promises to live up to the hype.
