The Idea Behind Oxlade’s ‘Away’

Oxlade is one new artist in the Nigerian music scene determined to be authentic on his journey and whose originality has remarkably led to his consolidation among Nigerians’ favourites.

The ‘Away’ singer recently shared in an interview with the Complex UK the meaning and feelings behind each song on his 6-track EP, Oxygene released early in the year. On the hit ‘Away’, he said “This is the lead single, and here I tell my lady to come away with me on a journey to a place where there’s only us; no fuss, only trust. And the video you’ll see us running away from a couple of people. They represent the negative energy, basically the noise in our silence.”

His latest music is the remix to Slow Down by Skip Marley and H.E.R featuring himself and Davido which you can listen to here.
