Nigerian music sensation Wizkid is celebrating a milestone – 13 years since the release of his groundbreaking debut album, Superstar.
The artist took to his social media platform, “X”, to express gratitude for his journey and growth, while also teasing his upcoming album, Morayo.
“13 years since Superstar! First album! Thankful for all God’s blessings. Healthy family! Blessed life! Love God,” Wizkid wrote, reflecting on his humble beginnings.
Wizkid’s debut album, Superstar (2011), was a game-changer in Nigerian music, blending afrobeat, reggae, dancehall, and R&B styles.
The album, released by Empire Mates Entertainment, featured collaborations with Banky W, Skales, and other rising stars, with hits like “Holla at Your Boy” launching him into the afrobeats scene.
Since then, Wizkid has released five studio albums: Ayo (2014), Sounds from the Other Side (2017), Made in Lagos (2020), and More Love Less Ego (2022).
His upcoming album, Morayo, is reportedly inspired by his late mother, with Wizkid promising a legendary release.
“Morayo is coming,” Big Wiz wrote, teasing the album.
