Wizkid and Asake, the award-winning Nigerian singers, have joined forces for a new single titled ‘Jogodo’.

The track, released on streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday, offers a preview of their first-ever collaborative EP, ‘Real (Vol 1),’ arriving on January 23.

‘Jogodo” is a masterclass in stylistic fusion. The song seamlessly stitches together Wizkid’s effortless, honeyed melodies with Asake’s trademark high-octane, streetwise delivery.

This blend creates a soundscape that is both laid-back and propulsive, catering to listeners from the lounge to the dance floor.

Lyrically, the artistes trade verses in a mix of Yoruba and Pidgin, celebrating allure and nightlife with an infectious, chant-ready chorus.

“No be for here, you go jogodo/ Say tonight you go dey know, know, know/ O fe pa mi with ogogoro/ No be today we dey kpo, kpo/ Bobo, your body dey pololo (Yeah)/ Yepa, your body don dey tongolo (Yeah)/ I found the money ’til tomorrow-row/ Baby, baby, jowo, omo Ọlọ́run, fine bobo/ Jowo maje o jabo,” they sing.

In a recent Instagram post, Asake revealed that the EP contains four songs including ‘Jogodo’, ‘Turbulence’, ‘Iskolodo’ and ‘Alaye’.

This marks the first time the two singers are joining forces for an entire extended play, though their collaborative history is already celebrated.

Wizkid previously featured Asake on ‘Bad Girl’ from his 2024 project ‘Morayo.’ Conversely, Asake enlisted Wizkid for the standout track ‘MMS’ on his debut album ‘Lungu Boy.’

Wizkid, one of Afrobeats’ revered “big 3,” is a global icon and multiple award-winner. Asake on the other hand, has solidified himself as one of Nigeria’s leading artistes.
