South African Grammy Award-winning music sensation Tyla is breaking boundaries once again, this time as the newly announced host of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The 23-year-old becomes the first African ever to host the globally celebrated ceremony. The prestigious awards will take place in Santa Monica, California, on June 25.
The Johannesburg-born star has also been nominated for Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Music Collaboration for her hit “Show Me Love,” a collaboration with WizTheMc and the duo bees & honey.
Among the first-time nominees for this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards are Doechii, who won the Best Rap Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, and actress Florence Pugh.
The “Water” hitmaker, Tyla, is known for setting trends and breaking barriers by blending her South African musical heritage with global pop sounds.
Some of her notable achievements include winning a Grammy Award for best African music performance in 2024 for “Water” and receiving the Impact Award at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event.
