Tems to receive RIAA Gold certification

Nigerian vocal powerhouse Tems is set to receive an RIAA Gold certification for her song ‘Free Mind.’ The news hit the internet after the charts data took to their Twitter page to announce that the song has sold 500,000 units in the United States, which makes it eligible for a Gold certification. ‘Free Mind‘ was released in 2020 as one of the singles on Tems’ ‘If Orange was a Place’ EP.

This will be Tems first solo certification. She has, however, gotten platinum plagues due to her featuring on Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ and Future’s ‘Wait For U’. She has now joined ‘Wizkid,’ ‘Davido,’ ‘Burna boy,’ and ‘Ckay’ as artistes with solo RIAA certifications. Tems also recently contributed to Rihanna’s first song after her six years of hiatus as a co-writer. The song ‘Lift Me Up’ was released on Friday, October 28, 2022.
