South African newcomer Tyla gave Swift a run for her money picking up three awards for best Afrobeats, best R&B and best African act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday in Manchester, England. Tyla Announces Deluxe Version of Self-Titled Debut

Tyla had a major hit last summer with “Water,” and her self-titled debut album did well, too, peaking in the top 25 on the Billboard 200 chart.  The "Water" superstar surprised fans on Monday (October 7), announcing that TYLA (Deluxe) will hit streaming services on Friday (October 11). The deluxe version will include three new songs: “Shake Ah” featuring Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro, “Push 2 Start,” and “Back To You.” Aside from that, it also features new album artwork. The self-titled debut arrived in March with features from Travis Scott, Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, and Becky G, and debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 chart. Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has condemned the bullying of Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a Miss South Africa finalist, who recently pulled out from the contest after she attracted scrutiny over her nationality. Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican heritage, became the centre of a nationality row in July after she qualified for the round of 16 of the Miss South Africa beauty pageant.
