Nigeria and South Africa Call for Immediate Ceasefire in Sudan
Nigeria and South Africa have issued a joint statement calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the conflict in Sudan. The two countries also urged for expedited access to humanitarian assistance in the war-torn nation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, made the call in a joint statement released on Saturday. The ministers met on the sidelines of the African Union Executive Council in Accra, Ghana, to discuss regional and continental matters, including peace and security.
