Sony Music Publishing opens Nigerian branch

Sony Music Publishing is part of Sony Music Group, which is also a part of Sony Entertainment. Sony Music Publishing is one of the largest music publishers in the world and it was founded in 1955. It has an outstanding record of deals and purchases.

With its headquarters in New York, Sony looked to expand its brand to Africa. The music powerhouse has announced opening a new office in Lagos, Nigeria. The company has appointed Godwin Tom as its Managing Director. Godwin Tom is a renowned talent manager, creative entrepreneur, and Chief Executive Officer at iManage Africa.

Sony’s goal is to boost its list of songwriters and composers across the region. Godwin Tom is the perfect man to oversee their expansion and progress as the Head of Sony Music Publishing’s Nigeria division. 

With over 20 years of experience, Sony Music Publishing says that Godwin Tom deeply understands the African music industry and has fostered relationships with top stakeholders in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
