Shodade Segun, the Nigerian singer better known as Shoday, has launched his highly anticipated debut album ‘Hybrid’.
The 25-year-old Agege-born artiste unveiled the 14-track project on Friday (Feb. 6).

The album is a rich tapestry of sounds and stories, seamlessly blending themes of personal ascent, love, luxury, and street authenticity.
It serves as both a personal documentary of Shoday’s journey and a vibrant exploration of contemporary Afrobeats.
The album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborations, highlighting Shoday’s versatility and industry connections.
Standout tracks include the introspective ‘Sober’, the celebratory ‘Joy’, and the street-pop anthem ‘Shoddy Kilode’. Notable features elevate the project, with contributions from:
· ‘Paparazzi’ feat. Fola
· ‘DBT’ with Bhadboi DML
· ‘Figure 8’ feat. British rapper Pozer
· ‘A1’ with Kizz Daniel
· ‘Screaming Beauty’ feat. Olivetheboy
· ‘Bad & Boujee’ feat. Taves
· ‘Casablanca’ feat. Ayo Maff
On ‘Hybrid’, Shoday masterfully documents the duality of his experience. Tracks like ‘Glam & Fire’ and ‘Somebody’ articulate the struggles and triumphs of a rapidly ascending artiste, while ‘Bad & Boujee’ delves into themes of lifestyle and aspiration.
His cultural roots anchor the project, with solid street-pop records like ‘DBT’ and ‘Shoddy Kilode’ offering raw, authentic energy.
True to his reputation for crafting compelling anthems about women, Shoday continues this signature streak on serenading tracks such as ‘Paparazzi’, ‘Postcode’, ‘Screaming Beauty’, ‘Figure 8’, and the collaborative hit ‘A1’.
Recognised earlier this year as a key breakout artiste to watch by TheCable Lifestyle, Shoday uses ‘Hybrid’ to fully realize that promise, presenting a cohesive and compelling body of work that is poised to resonate with a global audience.
