Reekado Banks, the Nigerian singer, has come through with his sophomore album titled ‘The Game Needs You’.

The singer announced the album’s release across streaming platforms in the early hours of Tuesday.
In an Instagram post, Banks expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the project and urged fans to immerse themselves in the music.
The singer also described the project as a “labour of love” and a “testimony of time, patience, pain, and purpose”.
“This one is bigger than me it’s a testimony of time, patience, pain, and purpose. A labor of love, crafted by many brilliant minds and beautiful hearts,” he wrote.
“To the producers who laid the foundation with sound: Don Jazzy, Skitter, Burssbrain, Jamie Black, BadBoy, Andre Vibes, Fizzy, God Omarr, Semzi, Tuzi, Del B, Saszy – you brought the magic.
“To the featured artists who blessed the songs with soul and fire: Phyno, Winny, Terry Apala, KashComing, Lil Kesh, Mayorkun, SKIIBII – thank you for showing up and showing out.
“To the pens behind the poetry: GB Cruize, Ema Onigah, Mbryo, FxrTune, Bryann, LADÉ your words gave breath to melodies.
“To the engineers who made it shine: Sheymi, Syn X, IFX, North, 8Notes – thank you for polishing every detail with precision.
“To the instrumentalists who gave it life and culture: The Bata Drummer, Ikaey Asanga – your hands told stories.
“…This album is ours. Now it belongs to the world. Go stream it. Feel it. Share it. Let it speak to you the way it spoke to us while we made it.”

The album boasts a diverse mix of sounds, blending Afrobeat, highlife, and contemporary pop.
Tracks in the body of work include ‘Freestyle’, ‘2WFL’, ‘Maami’, ‘Oroma’, ‘Biliki’, ‘Jawo’, ‘December (So Beautiful)’, ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Katalina’.
Others are ‘My Woman’, ‘Mukutu’, ‘Omox100’, ‘Ogini’, ‘Glamorous’ and ‘Bro Bro’.
Born Ayodeji Solomon, Banks signed with Mavin Records in 2014. He, however, left the label four years later.
He released his debut album ‘Spotlight’ on September 1, 2016, and has also won a number of awards.
Banks was named Rookie of the Year at The Headies 2014. He also won the ‘Next Rated’ award at The Headies 2015.
