Nonso Amadi, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, has put out his highly anticipated single ‘Greedy’.

The single was released across streaming platforms in the early hours of Friday.

In the song, Nonso explores themes of emotional vulnerability, yearning for reassurance and intimacy in a relationship marked by growing distance.

“I’ve been waiting for you, waiting for you/ Say me and you in the same shoes/ No man want to stand alone/ If I stand with you, am I standing strong?/ Now imagine if I came closer/ Would you grind for me on my ten toes/ Tell me nobody else knows/ Just give it to me girl and never let go/ That one time that I need ya/ Nowhere to find you, nowhere to see ya/ We only talk when it’s on the media/ Baby just gimme something make I feel ya,” he sings.

Amadi first gained widespread attention in Nigeria’s alternative music scene in 2016, following the success of his breakout track ‘Tonight’.

Since then, he has built a growing catalogue of soulful Afro-R&B music and collaborated with industry names like Maleek Berry, Simi, and Mr. Eazi.

In 2018, he received two Headies nominations, which he lost after the organisers announced that they were given in error.

Nonso also disclosed in 2023 that Banky W and Adesua Etomi who played a key role in convincing his parents to support his decision to pursue music professionally.
