Nigeria’s D’Tigers lose to Angola at the FIBA World cup qualifier

The Nigeria men’s national basketball team, D’Tigers, lost their game against Angola’s basketball team in the ongoing FIBA Basketball World Cup African qualifying window. The team suffered a 70-67 defeat to Angola on Sunday, August 28, 2022. The game was the D’Tigers’ third game of the FIBA World Cup Africa Qualifier.

They started with a 78-66 loss to Cote D’Ivoire on Friday, August 26, 2022. Then they recuperated with an 80-79 victory against Guinea on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Nigeria is now placed fourth in Group E and has missed out on automatic qualification for the World Cup. The basketball team will wait till February 2023 to try again and win a ticket to the FIBA World Cup. The World Cup is scheduled to take place from August 25, 2023, to September 10, 2023, in Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
