Nathaniel Bassey to Perform at Trump’s Pre-Inauguration Prayer Breakfast

Nathaniel Bassey, the Nigerian gospel singer, is set to perform at the presidential inaugural prayer breakfast of Donald Trump in Washington DC.

Trump won the United States presidential election in November 2024.

Bassey announced the event in a social media post on Saturday while inviting believers to join in the spiritual gathering.

The event is scheduled to take place on January 20, ahead of Trump’s swearing-in ceremony.

“Let us raise a sound in America and let the King of Glory come in. See you on 20th January 2025,” he wrote.

“The presidential prayer breakfast is a non-official and non-governmental event.

“It is a faith-based platform where intercessory prayers and worship are offered to God on behalf of the office of the president and government of the nation.

“This event is held once in four years preceding the inauguration ceremony as a breakfast prayer meeting ahead of every new administration.

“And over the years has been attended by leaders and dignitaries from around the world. Hostess: Rev. Merrie Turner.”

The prayer breakfast is expected to draw global leaders and faith representatives as they intercede for the incoming administration.

Bassey is a pastor, trumpeter, and songwriter popularly known for his songs ‘Imela’, ‘Onise Iyanu’, and ‘Olowogbogboro’.

He has established himself as one of the prominent gospel ministers in Nigeria.
