Mavin Records has officially unveiled its newest signing, the 21-year-old artiste Cupid Szn, who simultaneously released his debut EP, ‘Myth Era’.
The announcement from the label’s founder Don Jazzy introduced the talented singer to the world, marking the start of a new chapter for the young artiste.
The development was twofold: first with the official welcome to the Mavin family, and immediately followed by the release of his five-track project.
The EP ‘Myth Era’ features songs including ‘Palava’, ‘Tuka Tuka’, ‘Otula’, ‘Zesty Money’, and ‘Famous’.
The tracks offer a glimpse into Cupid Szn’s artistry. In ‘Tuka Tuka’, he plays the romantic, crooning about being deeply in love and captivated by his love interest’s beauty.
In contrast, ‘Famous’ serves as a heartfelt tribute to his support system. On this track, he gives a “standing ovation” to everyone who believed in him from the beginning, with special praise reserved for his parents.
The song also carries a pointed message for his doubters, calling out those who ignored him during his struggles
“Standing ovation for all the people wey believe in me/ I no fit take your love for granted make una watch and see/ Mama, papa this one nakh for una, your son dey on his knees/ If not be for the support I see, I swear to God I for don kpai since/ Family, number 1 make all of una get out/ I no care, I no send, kaki no be leather/ Suddenly you one form like you need dey there/ But where you been dey when I dey with my day ones,” he sings.
Don Jazzy shared the backstory of Cupid’s signing, revealing that the artiste’s journey to Mavin began two years prior when his father first messaged the label boss about his son’s talent.
That persistent belief has now culminated in Cupid Szn joining the prestigious roster of Mavin Records artistes, which includes Rema, Crayon, Magixx, and Ayra Starr.
