Simi Signs New Deal With Apple Music’s Platoon

In 2018, Apple purchased Platoon, a company that helps independent artists fund, distribute, and market their content. At the time, Billie Eilish, Stefflon Don, Mr. Eazi and YEBBA had collaborated with Platoon on different projects.

It’s another bundle of joy for Nigerian Singer, Simi as the star announces a new deal with Apple Music’s Platoon.

Earlier this year, Platoon CEO, Denzyl Feigelson shared the company’s strategy for expansion in Africa with Billboard. “I want artists to be able to manage their music on our platform; get services like health care, legal and accounting; learn about publishing, touring, how you market; and conquer things like YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch,” he said. “Because if I help them grow their businesses, it’s only helping us grow our business, too. And we’re doing that in all kinds of ways.”

Welcoming Simi to the Platoon family, Feigelson said,“We’re are really looking forward to seeing your music spread out to the entire globe, which it should.”

“Platoon definitely stood out for me because of the energy. When you’re doing art, it is always important for everyone to be on the same wave length. It was like a no brainer for me,” the Duduke crooner said on her decision to sign with Platoon.

Simi joins other artists like DJ Cuppy and WurlD signed to Platoon. Her new EP, Restless II, will also be arriving soon.

Congratulations, Simi!
