The UK is launching its first ever official Afrobeats Chart.

In collaboration with AfroNation, a weekly chart of Afrobeats hits compiled using UK sales and streaming data from over 9,000 outlets, streams, downloads and offline sales.

Official Charts says the Afrobeats chart is “a landmark moment for a genre whose growing influence on popular music culture is exploding across the globe – driven by a growing community of independent and major label artists.”

The Top 20 chart will be updated via a weekly Spotify ‘Official UK Afrobeats Chart’ playlist and the first official chart will be revealed on the 26th in a special ‘The Official UK Afrobeats Show’ on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Till Sunday, there’s a playlist of the top 20 Afrobeats songs of the past 20 months. J Hus sits at the top of the chart followed by Burna Boy, NSG and Yxng Bane.
