Sauti Sol Releases Fifth Studio Album ‘Midnight Train’

Kenyan Afropop band, Sauti Sol, just released their fifth studio album titled ‘Midnight Train’ . It is the band’s first major-label record with Universal Music Africa.

Midnight Train is a thirteen-track album featuring star artists such as the Soweto Gospel Choir, India Arie, Mortimer, Burna Boy and many others. Speaking on the album, Polycarp, one-quarter of the band said, “Midnight Train is a wholesome album and a milestone release for the group. It is inspirational and uplifting and offers much needed social commentary while not losing its global appeal. There is a lot of maturity in the album. We have come of age and we express how people should perceive us freely after 11 years as professional singers. Every song speaks to an issue that is relatable to everyone.

Previously released singles off the album with music videos are Suzanna, Brighter Days and Insecure which have been very well-received and loved so far. A notable collaboration is the Disco Matanga (Yambakhana) ft. Black Motion & Sho Madjozi which is the official soundtrack to Netflix’s First African Original Series, Queen Sono.

Created with a lot of passion, Midnight Train is a wonderfully made treat.
