The 2022 MTV European Music Awards nomination list has been released by MTV. The awards show is scheduled to hold in Düsseldorf, Germany on November 13, 2022. The MTV Europe Music Awards are awards presented by Paramount International Networks to honor artists and music in pop culture. This is the first time the awards show will take place in Germany. The show will air live on MTV from the PSD Bank Dome.
The nomination list created a buzz on the internet because some African artistes were nominated. The Nigerian trio of Burna boy, Ayra Starr, and Tems were nominated for the Best International Act category, and they are to compete with Ghanaian star Black Sherif, South African artiste Musa Keys, and Tanzanian singer Zuchu. Afrobeats queen Tems was also nominated for the Best New Artist award.
