Nigerian singer-songwriter Bella Alubo has unveiled her highly anticipated album “LOVE IS WAR”.

This expansive 15-track LP sees Bella delve into love’s complexities through her signature blend of Afropop, R&B, and alternative rhythms.
“Starting to think that you’re no good for me/Lately protecting all my energy,” she sings over a percussion-heavy instrumental on album opener “Oxygen”, an emotionally charged lead offering, co-written with Cheyenne Lavene and produced by Fresh Ayr (GRM Daily).
Ycee joins Alubo for a confessional on “Fear Love,” leading to her admission of falling in love again on “Necessary.” She gets fiery on “Ricochet,” questioning, “Who that woman you been texting in the middle of the night?” and hints at confrontation. Not all tracks on ‘Love Is War’ shy away from the challenges of unfulfilling romance.
Alubo is wistful about the radiant warmth of love on “Dream About It” and sketches out the details of her ideal partner on “African King”.
On rare occasions, when she looks past her broken relationships and the promise of future love, she fiercely promotes herself. She recounts her journey from Jos to becoming a respected musician on “Fancy Lady” and assures herself of success on “Don’t You Worry,” reminding us that heartache can ignite the embrace of one’s greatness.
