Ayra Starr is leading the charge in JD’s latest collaboration with New Balance, showcasing the newly reimagined 740 silhouette.
The Nigerian singer-songwriter fronts the campaign, effortlessly styling the sneaker with a simple, everyday look that highlights its versatility. This drop marks another chapter in JD’s longstanding partnership with New Balance, following exclusive releases like the 1000, the Cat Burns-fronted 9060, and the Loyle Carner 1906.
The 740 reissue draws inspiration from its original 2000s design, featuring a running-inspired silhouette, open knit mesh upper, segmented midsole, and streamlined construction. Two-tone overlays add an eye-catching touch to the classic style. For this launch, JD introduces four new tonal colorways, which include “Pearl Grey,” “Sea Salt,” “Slate Grey,” and “Timberwolf,” all of which are exclusively available at JD.
To celebrate the release, JD and New Balance hosted an intimate event. Guests had the opportunity to explore the new colorways in an immersive space. The celebration also featured a live performance by Ayra Starr, known for her genre-blending sound. DJ Skyla Tylaa and other local artists joined in, bringing the night to life with music and energy.
