Ivory Coast Prime Minister dead – Official

The Ivorian government has confirmed the death of Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly who died at the age of 61 in the capital Abidjan.  According to a report made available to the press, the deceased returned home last week (July 2) after a two-month absence during which period he was receiving medical treatment in France. Coulibaly is a close ally of Ouattara and has held the Prime Minister portfolio since 2017. He was the presidential candidate of the ruling Rally of Republicans party in upcoming polls meant to choose a new president as incumbent Alassane Ouattara leaves office after two terms. Despite COVID-19 global pandemic, Africa’s E-Health Startups have continued to soar. The number of African e-health startups operating across the continent has hit an all-time high at 180 active companies, while investment into the space continues to snowball, reaching record levels in the first half of 2020.  An exclusive 2020 report released by Disrupt Africa reveals the number of startups active in the health-tech space on the continent has grown by 56.5 per cent over the last three years, with 180 ventures currently in operation. Apple Music launches "Africa Rising" - A program to discover African music talents. With the program, every two months the editorial team at Apple Music will select one artist from the continent. Subsequently, they will also amplify their music to its users in 167 countries. Kenyan Schools to remain Closed until 2021

Following the COVID-19 global pandemic, Kenya's education ministry has said that all Kenyan schools, from Primary to secondary schools will reopen next year. With this development, the Kenyan Education ministry said all students would resume studies in their current classes. Speaking on the matter, the Education Minister, George Magoha said no final-year national examinations would be held for primary and secondary pupils this year. Those exams are usually held in October and November each year. However, colleges and universities will prepare to re-open in September this year with strict guidelines, the minister revealed. To further create a positive atmosphere to subdue the widespread of Coronavirus, a Ghanaian wax-print company has launched a new line of designs inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic.
