PICK AND PAY FULLY MIGRATES TO AMAZON WEB SERVICES.

Pick n Pay becomes the first sub saharan African retailer to complete an all in migration to Amazon web services. Pick n Pay, a South African retailer, has migrated its entire on-premises information technology (IT) infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Pick n Pay worked with Lemongrass Consulting, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, for the migration. By analyzing data in the cloud, Pick n Pay can forecast demand, identify customer patterns and sentiment, and improve the in-store and online shopping experience for customers. With AWS, the retailer can dynamically scale its infrastructure resources in line with business demand and peak retail seasons. Pick n Pay states that this elasticity will help it scale its online shopping services, which run on AWS, to serve thousands of South African customers during its busiest shopping periods and holidays.

Djenné, MALI’S ICONIC ARCHITECTURAL BUILDINGS.

Mali has one of the most famous landmarks in Africa and it's located in Djenné. This landmark was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. It is called the The Great Mosque of Djenné. The Great Mosque of Djenné is a large brick or adobe building in the Sudano-Sahelian architecture style. The current structure dates back to 1907 although the  first mosque on the site was built around the 13th century. It is in the centre of the community of Djenné. It's definitely a sight to see.  The walls of the Great Mosque are made of sun-baked earth bricks, and sand and earth based mortar, and are coated with a plaster which gives the building its smooth, sculpted look. I've never seen brick buildings look this good.
