The 2023 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) was held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, and it was nothing but entertaining. AFRIMMA is an annual African music awards ceremony aimed at rewarding and celebrating musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent and it accommodates all musical genres.
Afrobeats artist Davido won the ‘Best Album of the Year’ award with his 2023 album ‘Timeless,’ while Rema beat other artists to win the ‘Artist of the Year’ award. Other winners include Ayra Starr who won the ‘Best Female for West Africa’ award, Flavour won the award for ‘Best Live Performance’, Odumodublvck won the ‘Best Newcomer’ award, and Blaqbonez won the award for ‘Best Rap Act.’ The other notable awards were KCee’s recognition with the AFRIMMA Legendary award while Timaya was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.
