Seven New Original Africa Magic Shows Premiering This October

Africa Magic is rolling out seven brand-new original productions this October, expanding its slate of dramas, thrillers, epics, and even a fresh music reality competition.

The broadcaster announced the brand-new original shows on Tuesday at an exclusive industry showcase, highlighting its continued investment in homegrown content that reflects African cultures and stories.

The rollout began in late September with the dramatic supernatural thriller ‘The Low Priest’ and the family drama ‘Mother of the Bride’. The lineup continues this month with titles like ‘Etiti,’ the story of a warrior trapped between worlds, and ‘Rise Again,’ a redemption story about a dancer.

On October 11, the network’s indigenous language channels will premiere three new shows. ‘Kukoyi’ (Yoruba) follows a man who ties his fate to a king for wealth, ‘Mgbuka’ (Igbo) explores a rivalry in the scrap business, and ‘Sabon Tauraron Arewa’ (Hausa) is a new music competition spotlighting talent from northern Nigeria.

“As Big Brother Naija wraps up, we are excited to roll out fresh stories that speak to who we are as Africans,” said Atinuke Babalola, executive head of content and channels, MultiChoice West Africa.

“These new titles are united by a focus on authentic storytelling that reflects our people, our values, and our creativity.”

The October premieres underscore MultiChoice’s commitment to placing diverse African narratives and local talent at the forefront of primetime television.
