David Alaba visits the iconic New Afrika Shrine

David Alaba, Real Madrid defender of Nigerian heritage, was spotted enjoying Lagos’ vibrant nightlife on Friday, making a notable appearance at the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja.

The cultural hub is dedicated to late Fela Anikulap Kuti, the legendary Afrobeat pioneer.

The Austria-born footballer, accompanied by his entourage, immersed himself in the lively atmosphere of the iconic venue.

Earlier in the day, Alaba had visited the Oba Elegushi International Market in Lekki, where he explored the bustling marketplace, posed for photos, and signed autographs for excited fans.

The 32-year-old former Bayern Munich defender, whose father is a Nigerian prince and former rapper/DJ, has always had strong ties to music.

His sister is a professional recording artiste, and he has openly expressed his admiration for Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.

The defender endured a difficult season with Real Madrid, making only 14 appearances due to injuries as the club struggled through one of its least successful campaigns in recent years.
