Oluwatosin Ajibade, the Nigerian singer fondly called Mr Eazi, has come through with a new single titled ‘Love Me Now’.
The soulful track, which marks Eazi’s first major single of the year, was released on Friday.
In ‘Love Me Now’, Eazi explores the pain of realising love too late, while offering a poignant reminder to cherish what you have before it is lost.
‘Love me now/ Make you no love me later/ Kiss me now/ Make you no kiss me later/ You for, give me now/ You fit no see me later/ I want you now, make we no wait till later/ I don loss/ I don loss/ l don loss for road/ I don jonze/ Oh, I don jonze/ Omo na when you don lose person/ Then you go know say you love person/ Omo na when you no see person/ Na then you go no say you miss person,” the lyrics read.
The single comes a few months after the singer lost his mum.
Mr Eazi rose to stardom in the music industry after the release of ‘Holl Up’, his 2015 single.
He is also the pioneer of Banku Music, a fusion sound that he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.
In April 2023, the singer announced the formation of a new pan-African music group titled ‘Choplife Soundsystem’.
