Wizkid, the Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar, has cancelled several dates on his highly anticipated ‘Morayo’ tour, affecting shows across North America.

The tour was originally set to kick off on June 5 in Atlanta, Georgia, but multiple stops have now been axed without explanation.

The affected shows include:

  • June 5 – Atlanta, GA (State Farm Arena)
  • June 7 – New York, NY (Madison Square Garden)
  • June 11 – Toronto, ON (Scotiabank Arena)
  • June 15 – Baltimore, MD (CFG Bank Arena)
  • June 19 – Houston, TX (Toyota Center)
  • June 22 – Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Bowl) — initially listed but later confirmed as still on.

On the official ticketing platform revealed that most US and Canadian dates were marked as “cancelled by the event organisers”.

The company also informed fans who purchased tickets that they will receive automatic refunds within 14 to 21 days.

“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event,” the post reads.

“You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.

“Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster.”

Also, a scheduled concert in Berlin, Germany, was reportedly cancelled.

No official reason has been given for the tour cancellations, leaving fans speculating about possible rescheduling or undisclosed issues.

Released on November 22, 2024, ‘Morayo’ serves as a heartfelt tribute to Wizkid’s late mother Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
