Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, is set to perform at the Wireless Festival in the UK.
The three-day event, which is the UK’s premier urban music festival, will be held at London’s Finsbury Park from July 11 to 13.
Drake, the US rapper, will also headline the event for the entire three days in celebration of the festival’s 20th anniversary.
Burna Boy will take the stage as a special guest on Sunday. Other artistes confirmed for the festival include: Summer Walker, Vybz Cartel, PartyNextDoor, and The Mandem.
The organisers announced that the full lineup of performers would be revealed soon.
This would be Burna Boy’s second appearance at the festival. The first time he performed was in 2020.
He was also initially scheduled to perform at the 2022 edition but pulled out some days before due to personal reasons.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy gained fame after releasing ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his debut album ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013).
Since then, he has released seven albums: ‘L.I.F.E’ (2013), ‘On a Spaceship’ (2015), ‘Outside’ (2018), ‘African Giant’ (2019), ‘Twice As Tall‘ (2020), ‘Love, Damini‘ (2022) and ‘I Told Them‘ (2023).
He has also won several awards. In 2021, the Afro-fusion artiste won the ‘Best World Music Album’ category at the Grammy Awards for his fifth album ‘Twice As Tall’.
