Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, has once again found himself at the center of controversy. In the early hours of Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the award-winning artist publicly declared his love for Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, only to swiftly delete the post after it sparked a social media frenzy.
His now-vanished Instagram video not only professed his affection for Natasha but also made a sensational plea for marriage, all while attempting to downplay tensions with his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia.
The now-deleted footage featured 2Baba speaking candidly: “Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, she’s cool. I want to marry her.” His declaration immediately ignited speculation, especially as it came on the heels of his high-profile separation from Annie. Despite his attempts to pacify the situation by insisting that he and Annie remain on good terms—stating, “Annie and I are not fighting, we are not quarrelling. We have a good understanding of ourselves and what’s going on”—the timing of his revelation only fueled further public scrutiny.
The drama escalated when 2Baba posted a striking image of Natasha, calling on his followers to convince the politician to accept his marriage proposal. “Now this is my world. Make una help me beg am to marry me,” he wrote, making his intentions crystal clear. This audacious move, however, was also short-lived, as he promptly erased the post, leaving fans bewildered and divided.
While many remain skeptical about the sincerity of his latest romantic pursuit, others have turned their attention to Natasha, questioning her involvement in the unraveling of 2Baba’s marriage. The musician, however, was quick to defend her, vehemently denying that she played any role in his marital discord.
