Dr. Fola David Attempts Guinness World Record for Largest Drawing

Nigerian doctor and visual artist, Dr. Fola David, has begun his official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Drawing by an Individual on a canvas measuring 850 square meters.

The artwork, titled “Unity in Diversity,” will feature a map of Nigeria highlighting the country’s diverse tribes through their unique attire, languages, art, and essence.

The record-breaking attempt is currently underway at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos and is scheduled to last for six days, from July 16 to July 21, 2024.

The current Guinness World Record holder is Ravi Soni from India, who achieved a drawing of 629.98 square meters.

Fola David says he is doing this drawing as a reflection of the cultural identities of Nigeria, and as a way to promote peace and unity among the diverse Nigerian tribes, thereby promoting peaceful coexistence in his country.

The title of the drawing is “Unity in Diversity” and the message is love and peace, which are vital components to the development of Nigeria as a nation.

This project was built around the celebration of the multicultural heritage of Nigeria and the knowledge that the growth, development, and ultimate survival of the great nation will be determined by the willingness and conscious efforts of the Nigerian people to live together in peace and harmony, irrespective of their ethnic background.
