Nigerian sprinter Amusan has set a new 60m hurdle record, clocking 7.75 seconds at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston. The record-breaking sprinter broke the record she set in January when she clocked 7.77 seconds in Kazakhstan at the Astana Indoor Meet in January.
The athlete’s record in January surpassed the longstanding 1999 record set by Gloria Alozie, where she set a mark of 7.82 seconds. However, despite setting a new record in Boston, Amusa came second while America’s Tia Jones finished first in 7.72 seconds and was followed by Bahama’s Devynne Chalton with a time of 7.76 seconds.
