There are a million ways to go viral on Twitter, but you never want to get on the bad side of Africans. This was the case for American rapper Meek Mill when he tweeted what he thought was an honest question on his social media account. The rapper got curious about music streaming in Africa, and he tweeted:
“Do a lot of people play my music in South Africa I remember having a big show ‘there’ a few years back … how do y’all listen to our music in South Africa???? On what platform or in Nigeria?”
This tweet went viral quickly and got Nigerians and South Africans uniting to call out the rapper on his ignorance. It also attracted side comments from other Africans, while others simply scrolled through the comment section to have a good laugh.
Even though the international rapper put out more tweets to clarify his question, the comment section housed more angry users. We have filtered through the comment section to list the top hilarious reactions to Meek Mill’s tweet and we hope you have a good laugh.

“On a good day we climb the mountain to listen to the forest play your music. On days when it’s rainy, we go down the nearest river and a mermaid comes out to sing your songs. We have only one computer here in my village, so it was my turn to tweet. 🙏 will hear from me next year.”

These tweets from these users summed up the situation to point to the unity between Nigerians and South Africans to diss the common enemy.
