Nigerian Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has been confirmed to perform at the coronation concert of King Charles III scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 7, 2023. The coronation is being held in honour of King Charles III as the King of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, who ascended to the throne after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
This is a new feat for the singer as it’s the first time a Nigerian is being invited to perform at the coronation. The singer will be joining other celebrities like ‘Steve Winwood,’ ‘Paloma Faith,’ ‘Olly Murs,’ and ‘DJ Pete Tong,’ who will play his famous Ibiza classics. The recent winners of ‘The Piano’ competition ‘Lang Lang’ and ‘Lucy,’ are also billed to showcase their amazing talent at the event.
