The international music streaming app ‘Spotify,’ hosted creatives, celebrities, media, and influencers on Thursday, August 25, 2022. The event was curated to celebrate the dynamic city of Lagos. Lagos has cemented itself as the home of creatives, a city of culture shifters and innovators. Spotify held this event to celebrate the young tastemakers trying to carve a niche for themselves, and the city that has contributed to their journey.
The event tagged as #SpotifyFunhouse, was held at Landmark Center in Victoria Island. Guests enjoyed performances from different artistes and had a chance to get insights into how the minds of Gen Zs work. The young content creators discussed how they use music to vibe-check and get work done. The guests also learned about the Spotify blend feature and were invited to create their blends.
The Head of Music, Sub Saharan Africa, Spotify, Phiona Okumu gave a speech concerning the purpose of the event. “We are so proud to be connected with the Nigerian Gen Z community, and we remain committed to amplifying the talent coming out of Nigeria by providing a platform for local artists and creators in the audio space to showcase their creativity.” Phiona Okumu. Lagos is here to stay as the home bed of influencers and will maintain its status as the city of influencers.
