Ese Brume wins 12th Gold for Nigeria

Nigerian Long Jumper, Ese Brume leaped and showcased an extraordinary performance during the Long Jump final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Brume recorded a foul in her first jump. However, this did not deter her from coming back with full force.

Brume won Gold after leaping a wonderful distance of 7.00m. She shattered the Commonwealth Games Record and broke the 6.97m record set by Australia’s Bronwyn Thompson in Melbourne in 2006.

Nigeria usually ends its Commonwealth journey with 11 gold medals at previous games, but Brume understood the assignment this year. Her spectacular win increased Nigeria’s gold medal haul to12. It is worthy of note that Nigeria’s best Commonwealth Games outing, yet, was made possible by its female team.
