Watch: Burna boy talks with the recording academy as his African giant album makes history on the charts

Nigerian Afro-fusion singer/songwriter Burna Boy is steadily ascending as a globally-loved superstar, with his smooth, rich vocals and infectious beats that blend traditional Afrobeat , dancehall, hip-hop, trap and more.

He was among a handful of big-name international artists to play Coachella 2019, made his “Jimmy Kimmel Live” debutlast month and, on July 25, released his highly anticipated album, African Giant.

the album, has became the highest ranking African album ever. News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the globally acclaimed album debuted at number 16 on the UK albums chart. The album has also debuted at No. 13 on Billboard World Charts.
